The next big push is from UNALAKLEET to SHAKTOOLIK 40 miles (think I said 50 before). The trail was glare ice a few days ago but it snowed last night. Problem now is that the wind is blowing so hard it has wiped the trail off the earth.
No matter....AARON BURMEISTER was having a great run. Team moving well, about 6 mph, with leaders driving hard. SOMEHOW DALLAS SEAVEY came out of somewhere and he was FIRST into KOYUK. It took him 7 1/2 hours on the trail and AARON came in second after a 16 hour run. The is a mental blow to AARON. The mind games are on!
Both teams will rest here but AARON is coming off a 16 hour trip and DALLAS only 71/2 hours. The rest time could make the difference.
