Deedee Lumb gave me a good idea about getting video's to my blog and I will try that tomorrow.
In the meantime, 6 of the top runners are in RUBY. From the pictures it seemed like a rather flat, windy and very cold trek from TANANA. First in to RUBY was MITCH SEAVEY--frost on his moustache and frost on his dogs faces. He will win the Spirit of Alaska Award for being the first to arrive here. Pen Air also gave him two rd trip tx any place they fly (don't think that's too far!!)
Next arrival, his son, DALLAS SEAVEY then MARTIN BUSER etc. ALIY ZIRKLE also is in RUBY.
There are two mandatory rests in the race. One 8 hour and the other 24 hours. Thing here is, Martin already had his 8 hours but Mitch and Dallas have not. Next in Hugh Neff and he too has had his 8 hours already. When checking the GPS one can now see that the teams have spread out more not bunched up like in the beginning. Strategy now!!!
Our girl HEIDI SUTTER is moving up fast. This morning she was in 76th place and now (midnight EST) she is 54th!! She also has had her 8 hour rest. You go girl.
